Shelby County, Kentucky History and Biographies
Shelby County, located in the north central portion of the state, was created in 1792 out of the lands that were known as Jefferson County. It was named in honor of Isaac Shelby, first governor of the State. In this volume there is a brief history of the county followed by a listing of persons well known in the area in the mid 1880s when the original was written.
